DESCRIPTION
I was commissioned to deliver a series of key art images promoting the head-to-head tennis matchups at Roland Garros 2023 for the Discovery+ sports streaming platform.
Working within an established design template, I carefully retouched and composited a wide range of player photographs. This involved isolating each athlete from their background, colour grading them to ensure consistency, and seamlessly positioning them against their competitors to create dynamic, visually balanced promotional assets.
PROCESS:
I retouched a selection of player photographs to create bold, clean and engaging key art. Each image required precise cut-outs of the athletes, removing them from their original backgrounds without losing fine details like flyaway hairs or motion blurs. I then carefully matched lighting and colour tones between the two players in each match-up, so they appeared cohesive when placed side by side. Finally, I composed each image with close attention to balance, scale and eye-line, ensuring the final artwork felt energetic, competitive and true to the Roland Garros brand.
