DESCRIPTION
I worked with two charities, RRN (Reduce Restraint Network) and BILD (British Institute of Learning Disabilities), to produce an animation for the Welsh Government. The video was commissioned and distributed by NHS Wales.
The project aimed to educate teachers and healthcare staff on what counts as restraint, as well as instructing them on how to properly treat neurodivergent patients in a way that won't cause them unnecessary distress.

ANIMATION:
After my initial storyboard was signed off by the client, I began illustrating the background environments in Photoshop using my XP-Pen graphics tablet. Using this same method I then illustrated all the people, designing each body part on separate layers so they could be brought into After Effects and built into moveable character rigs. Using carefully positioned anchor points as joints which were parented to each adjoining body part, I began animating my character's movements and facial expressions using key frames. I then carefully synced each mouth shape variation (which were illustrated in Photoshop) to match each audio narration file which the client provided. Since this brief required me to create two versions of the same video using both English and Welsh audio, I had to repeat this mouth syncing process for both languages. The following video is the English version.
